Summer BBQ

After the success of last years BBQ we are holding a similar event on Friday 13^th June 2008 at Meadowtop, Back Lane, Chipping by kind permission of our Chairman Terry Till.

This year Terry has kindly offered to take anyone who wants (for a small fee), out on one of his military vehicles.

The cost is yet to be finalised but is likely to be £5.00 per head, which will include your food. Bring your own drinks.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM will be held on Tuesday 6^th May 2008 at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. (If the Hall is unavailable see local press for of venue)

Come along and take part in the AGM. This is your chance to find out what’s going on within the Society, to ask any questions you want answering and to elect the members you want to represent you on the committee.

Would you like to serve your Society by being on the committee? You will need a proposer and a seconder to put yourself up for election.

Play Readings

The Play this year will be “Hobson’s Choice” directed by Rachel Scott.

Play readings have been arranged for Wednesday 14^th and 21^st May 2008 at Rachel’s house (69 Waddington Road, Clitheroe) from 7.30pm.

Provisional dates for the play are 15^th to 18^th October 2008, these will be finalised when we know where we are putting it on.

Show 2009

Next year’s show will be “Chess” and is to be directed by Howard Raw.

Enrolment night and first rehearsal for this will be on Tuesday 26^th August 2008 at 7.30pm.

If any of you know of any new members who would like to join please bring them along, they will be made very welcome.

The dates for the show are 14^th to 21^st February 2009.

The Grand

The Grand on York Street is having an open day on Saturday 29^th March 2008 and we have been asked to perform a 15minute slot. For all those wishing to be involved there will be a rehearsal at

Anne’s dance studio on Tuesday 18^th March at 7.30pm.

NODA Nomination

Congratulations to Richard Sanderson who has been nominated for the NODA North West Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his role of Sir Evelyn, for this Society, in “Anything Goes” last year.

The results will be announced at the Annual NODA North West Dinner and Awards evening on 25^th May 2008.

Video Night

“Singin’ In The Rain” video night has been arranged for Tuesday 11^th March 2008 at the Swan & Royal Hotel, Clitheroe from 7.30pm. The Clitheroe Camcorder Club are kindly lending us a screen and projector on which we can watch ourselves!!

Future of the Hall

As you may be aware Trinity Partnership, who have been running the St. Mary’s Centre for the past few years, are pulling out on 31^st March 2008.

From that date the running of the Hall will revert back to the Trustees of the Parish Church. At present we do not know how this will affect our Society or even if we will be able to continue to put productions on in the Hall.

The Society’s committee are in discussions with the trustees trying to find out what their plans are for the Hall. The committee are also looking at other venues where we might rehearse and put on our future productions.
